What is the home self impression kit?

The home self impression kit contains dental impression putty and impression trays, the kit allows you to take your own dental impression. Full details can be found in the self impression instructions page, also see Everythingteeth TV.

Please note. Our custom fit products are created using our home self impression kit. Under no circumstances would any registered Dental Technician physically take an impression.

Is the home self impression kit suitable for everyone?

The home self impression kit is not suitable for people who have loose crowns, bridgework, fixed orthodontic treatment or other oral problems i.e. gum disease.

What happens if I make a mistake with the home self impression kit?

If you follow the instructions carefully and follow each step there is no reason why you should make a mistake. If you have any questions prior to impression taking please contact us. If you have not followed the instructions and have made a mistake you can purchase extra regular setting dental impression putty from our website.

Are the products suitable for children?

Our products are for adults only (except our sport mouthguards which are suitable from age 9 upwards) unless otherwise instructed by your dentist.

I have my own model of my teeth can I send you that?

Sorry we cannot accept your own model of teeth. As our technician has not manufactured the model we cannot guarantee the quality / fit of the custom fit product.

How do I clean my custom fit product?

Do not use hot or boiling water to clean your custom fit dental product as this will distort the shape.

We recommend using Nitradine Tablets to clean all our custom fit dental products. These are available from our website. For further information on cleaning your custom fit product please see Everythingteeth TV.

Do you send me the models of my teeth?

We do not send the models with your final product. We keep your models for 14 days after your order has been dispatched. If you require a new custom fit product after 14 days we will require a new impression from you.

CUSTOM FIT PRODUCTS

What are custom fit whitening trays?

They are a replica of your teeth. The trays are designed to fit comfortably in your mouth. They will hold the gel firmly and evenly over your teeth to give a consistent coverage of gel so that your teeth whiten evenly. The whitening trays are made from a 1mm soft material and are fully sealed around the gum line to prevent gel from leaking onto gums. The whitening trays are scalloped around the teeth to aid the removal of any gel from around the gum area in the event of over filling the trays.

What is a nightguard?

Bruxism is a medical term that describes the act of grinding the teeth and clenching the jaw. Sometimes, people grind their teeth without it causing any symptoms or problems. However, regular and persistent teeth grinding can cause pain and discomfort in your jaw and it can wear down your teeth.

Nightguards are used for teeth grinding and can be worn during the day or throughout the night to help relieve the pain and discomfort associated with teeth grinding. The nightguard is made from a 2mm soft material for ideal comfort.

What is a retainer?

A retainer is made from a clear rigid material. Retainers are used post orthondontic treatment usually after the use of a brace. The retainer helps to stop your teeth moving. It will not move your teeth.
